Expride utilises Shimano's exclusive Hi-Power X carbon wrapped blank construction for fine-tuned rod actions, with models specifically designed for versatility, power fishing or throwing swimbaits, while also providing anglers with enhanced casting distance and accuracy. The innovative and lightweight Carbon Monocoque butt increases lure vibration transfer through the rod and into an angler's hand for up to 30% more sensitivity. Additionally, high grade cork has been incorporated into the grip assembly for better feel and increased bite transmission. Extremely lightweight with excellent balance in the hand, the new Expride rods feature CI4+ reel seats and quality Fuji SiC guides for premium angling performance and increased durability. As a dedicated lure casting range, hook keepers have also been included for added convenience.

Product Technologies:

Hi-Power X

In Hi-Power X construction, the blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of "X" shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.

Carbon Monocoque

The Full Carbon Monocoque rod butt is made of a hollow carbon construction, eliminating the use of EVA from the rear grip. This results in a very lightweight construction that is extremely sensitive and improves vibration transmission through the rod to your hand when working a lure.

C14+ Reel Seat

C14 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber. It is lighter and has higher

strength than conventional resin material. C14+ is an advanced version of the original C14

material. This highly technical material is 2.5 times stiffer than C14 and is used in

Shimano reel seats to increase sensitivity and to reduce weight. use of C14+ for the reel

seat also delivers remarkable stiffness for perfect reel fixation which results in better rod

efficiency.

Fuji SIC

Silicon Carbide or Sic is one of the most advanced ceramics available today. It's the

hardest and most durable in Fuji's lineup and because of this, Sic Guides are particularly

well suited for braided line.
