The Madscad has been designed to be effective in all environments, in a range of sizes for a huge variety of species. This design has been refined over years of testing and many prototypes to get the perfect balance between castability and unique swimming action.

The key design features like the flattened top of the head, the scalloped sides and small tail wings all combine to make the action on this lure truly dynamic.

Sinks level, and has a wiggling action when sinking to allow the sides to give off flash and look more like a wounded bait fish.

Erratic swimming action when twitched, producing a pronounced thumping side to side darting action.

Recommended retrieve when casting is a couple of quick twitches and then a 2-3 second pause to let the lure slowly sink and wiggle and then twitch it again.

Fitted with Gorilla Through Wire system, and our unique double belly hooks that have been made specifically to balance the maverick 140 and give it the perfect action. The Maverick is made super strong and is up to any challenge. The Maverick 140 can be worked with a slow twitching action of the rod to get an amazing walk the dog surface action, which has booth a subtle splash, body roll and side to side pivoting action, It can also be worked with a long slow sweep of the rod for a completely unique crazy underwater swimming action matched with a splash and bubble trail. The trick with the long sweeping retrieve is a slightly faster rod sweep on the first 1/5 of the sweep. This pulls the head underwater with a big gulp of air and then creates the bubble trail. The rest of the sweep should be smooth and slow and you will feel the Maverick thumping and swimming through the rod tip. The cupped head and air chambers going through to the underside of the body have been designed to force bubbles along the side of the body, where they hug the sides of the lure creating a unique rolling swimming action.

GORILLA THROUGH WIRE

This through wire system has the wire bend around a set of extra plastic supports internally, making the wire less likely to separate from the lure body, and ensuring ultimate strength. The Through wire is also welded at both ends to ensure you never lose that big fish.

HD ABS SYSTEM

Normal plastic was simply not strong enough for our lures, so we designed a special formula of High Density ABS plastic, which is a white colour, and is ultimately stronger than any other plastic used for lure production. These lures feature a thicker wall construction, meaning ultimate strength and durability.

HD FOAM SYSTEM

This is our special system of injecting foam into the lure body, which creates extra strength in the lure body, but also means in the unlikely event of a huge fish puncturing the outer HD ABS plastic body, the lure will still function perfectly and still float and swim with the same great action it was designed with. In areas with mackerel, barracuda, cubera snapper orwahoo, this system means that lure failure is not going to happen.

MATRIX METAL PLATE SYSTEM

The ultimate in strength designed for big fish. The Matrix Metal Plate system features a unique design incorporating a stainless steel plate into the body mold of the lure. The plate is incorporated into the lure with a series of small holes at critical locations in the plate, allowing the molded plastic to weave through the metal plate and create the ultimate in strength. The metal plate means you will never lose a massive fish through lure failure, but the matrix system also means ultimate strength between the metal plate and molded body
