Arguably one of the most well-known Daiwa baitcast reels over the past decade, the all new Steez A gets the Hyper Long Cast (HLC) treatment in 2021. Daiwa’s history of HLC reels have been well received in Australia, where long casts to spooky fish can often mean the difference between getting a bite and not.

For 2021, the Steez A HLC is now equipped with a 36mm diameter HLC Spool, with a slightly increased line capacity from the original. This additional line capacity will be a welcome addition for the Australian angler.

The HLC spool is tuned for long-casting with new Magforce Z BOOST braking system specifically designed to give midweight lures from 10-30gm additional cast distance.

Also featuring HYPERDRIVE Design, Steez A HLC is a welcome upgrade to an already fantastic reel.

ATD-Drag (Automatic Tournament Drag)

Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

Clicking Drag

A drag system that produces a clicking sound when a fish runs and takes drag.

CRBB (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings)

Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless-steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

HLC Spool (Hyper Long Cast Spool)

Daiwa’s Hyper Long Cast super-tuned cast control system has been designed for optimum casting performance with the spool rotor modified to minimise rotor braking to maximise spool rotation and casting distance of heavier lures and baits.

Hyper-Digigear

Featuring, Daiwa’s famous machine cut gear system, Hyper Digigear, results in silky smooth precision meshing between the main and pinion gear. Ultra-tough, surface treated, high tensile alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear allow for increased gear teeth accuracy and improved gear meshing, smoothness, and strength.

Infinite Anti Reverse

Daiwa's advanced system that limits rearward back play handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.

Magsealed-Bearings

MagSeal protection is no longer just for the main shaft and rotor of a reel with MagSealed Ball Bearings providing ultimate protection for the most at-risk location such as the engine side plate and line roller.

TWS (T-Wing System)

Daiwa’s revolutionary T-Wing System addresses the issue of traditional line guide/level wind systems constricting line flow by delivering a T-shaped line guide that is larger, wider and less restrictive. TWS allows line to exit freely from the spool with minimal line angle, minimal friction and constriction, thereby reducing line noise and backlash, and delivering more accurate and longer casts.

Zero Adjuster – Factory set for perfect casts

Thanks to the revolutionary SV-Concept, it is no longer necessary to adjust the Mechanical Spool Brake Knob when casting. Perfect Zero Adjuster setting is when the spool shaft is held without side to side spool play. Appropriate brake power adjustment is now fully manageable with only the use of the Magnetic dial.
